The Farmhouse

Where thou art, that is home.

-Emily Dickinson

Built in 1896 on a prime plot of land in downtown Santa Rosa, the farmhouse had fallen into disrepair by the 1980’s. In 1992 a lawyer from Santa Rosa with a love for history and Victorian architecture purchased the house, moving it to it’s current location and  completely refurbishing it. Over the years, the house changed hands and maintenance was deferred.

In early 2016 Krissie came to Santa Rosa to move away from the bustle and noise of Oakland. Having arrived early to an appointment with her realtor, Krissie wandered into the open house for the Farmhouse and instantly fell in love.

Four months, one water heater, one furnace, and a whole lotta elbow grease later phase one of the renovation of Krissie’s was finished and the Bed & Breakfast opened. Guests of Krissie’s have a direct impact upon its preservation.  Funds earned pay for ongoing restoration and maintenance costs of the home.
